At Barbados YouthAdvance Corps, we pride ourselves on the ability to provide a means for young adults to "ADVANCE" in society. Whether it be higher education or personal growth, we focus on the key attributes needed for self-betterment.

Employment

Alignment to the 3-pronged national first-job initiative.

Counselling Support

Provision of holistic counselling support to all participant, individually and in groups, to address any psycho-social deficiencies and challenges while prompting the well being of every trainee.

Lifelong Learning

Provision to be made for skills training and engendering of lifelong education in a disciplined and organized environment.

Resource Pooling

Establishment of a pool of persons on which Barbados can draw for national events and low-risk, post-emergency situations.

Self Improvement

Development of a national workforce that is futureproof; well-trained and fit for purpose to thrive in the increasingly ideas and digitally driven Barbadian and global economies

Higher Education

Continuance of the learning process, exposing individual participants to rigorous but exciting and rewarding experiences.

Personal Growth

Preparation of each participant so that he/she becomes a more employable and productive member of society.

Social Reform

Leverage the natural inclination of post-Millennials to support matters of social good and social justice, reinforcing citizenship and responsibilities to put others and country above self.

Programme Structure

Utilizing Every Opportunity To ADVANCE

The Barbados YouthADVANCE Corps (BYAC) offers a two (2) year programme for young individuals ranging from age sixteen (16) to twenty (20). This programme is divided into two stages:

Group 9 Trainees Visiting Training Booths

Group-1-Trainees-Youth-Farming-and-Leadership-Programme

First Year

Focus: Residential Training (10 weeks) and Technical & Vocational Training
Duration: One (1) year

Second Year

Focus: Job attachments, apprenticeships and internships as well as participation in community service and national projects.
Duration: One (1) year
